Admire traditional skills in a weekend-long celebration of the natural beauty of wood at RHS Garden Hyde Hall. The event includes artisan woodcraft demonstrations combining horse logging, wood carving and furniture making.

There will also be a selection of beautiful hand-crafted items from local craftsmen available to buy at this event.

Activity Timetable:
  • 10.30am–3pm – Now Strike Archery: ‘Have a go’ And learn about traditional wood carving techniques
  • 10.30am–3pm – Jon Warwicker: From the Association of Pole Lathe Turners and Green Woodworkers demonstrating green woodworking techniques
  • 10.30am–3pm – Rustic Ash Chairs: traditional green woodworking chair-making demonstration
  • 11am–3pm (Saturday & Sunday only) – Hawthorne Heavy horses: Hore logging displays
  • 11.30am – Woodland Walk with Elliot from the Hyde Hall Estate Team
