During this daytime workshop, you will learn the main principles of good photography, focussing especially on those techniques that apply to garden photography. You will learn how to make the best use of your digital camera, which functions are important and how they should be used on your camera; and how to use and improve compositional skills, picking out aesthetic and graphic compositions within the environment, and then moulding them through perspective, lens and exposure control into beautiful photographic images.

Nigel Hicks is a hugely experienced, Devon-based professional photographer, who works extensively in the field of travel and tourism, taking in garden photography as a part of his work. His photography has taken him around the world, shooting in a range of environments for an assortment of publishers and travel companies. He works with the USA's prestigious National Geographic Image Collection, and is a Fellow of the British Institute of Professional Photography, the highest qualification in what is one of the UK's leading professional photography bodies.

Please bring your own camera equipment. Lunch and refreshments included.
