Garden Designers Debbie Carroll and Mark Rendell carried out a large scale project to find out why residents in care settings, in particular those living with dementia, were not using their gardens more actively. They have many insights to share from their research that will guide designers and other outdoor specialists to help residents, carers and families engage regularly, meaningfully and actively with their gardens and other outdoor spaces. This inspiring and thoughtprovoking day will look at a wide range of elements that need to be considered, both indoors and outdoors, when designing a garden for people living with dementia. Learn to create spaces that will be well used, well-loved and will truly enhance people’s lives.
