The sudden drop in temperature, morning frost sparkling on the fallen autumn leaves, and the need to scrape a thick layer of ice from the car windscreen in the mornings can only mean one thing; the 2017 courses and workshops brochure has arrived.
This year we have added 25 brand new courses to the programme, and I have to confess that keeping them under wraps while they were in the planning has not been easy. I have been more excited than a whistling kettle waiting for launch day – when the courses are released and bookings can begin.
What new skills do you want to pick up next year? Perfecting pruning perhaps, or if you have always longed to be able to identify trees when you see them, don’t miss our summer and winter tree identification courses. Has someone in the family got a wedding planned? The Grow Your Own Wedding Flowers course in February covers everything you could want to know, from timing sowings to planning shapes and filler flowers to create arrangements.
Our old favourites are back too, including the seasonal What Now? courses as well as starting from scratch, courses in propagation, growing fruit and vegetables and a plethora of courses in garden design, photography and other creative sessions.
With Christmas on the way, worry not about what to buy the person who seems to have everything; you can send them on a workshop! What better way is there to put a smile on somebody’s face than to tell them that they are coming to beautiful RHS Garden Wisley to make willow bird feeders or to spend an afternoon learning about botany and beer or making botanical cocktails?
Our range of courses is certainly varied, but what all our of courses have in common is that they offer enjoyable ways to learn new things about plants that you can take home and apply.
To see the whole of the 2017 programme of courses, visit our Courses & Workshops pages. One word of warning though; some of our courses can fill up very quickly, so if you are planning to book, don’t hang around.
If you have any enquiries about Wisley courses, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01483 479479 and we will be happy to answer your questions.
If you wish to make a booking, please 020 3176 5830 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
