Virtually all of the features of the old searches are still available and in addition we have added several new features to create a more comprehensive and user friendly search experience.

Other common names
Silene can be annuals, biennials or herbaceous or evergreen perennials, with opposite, untoothed leaves and solitary or clustered flowers with 5, usually notched petals
S. schafta is a mat-forming semi-evergreen perennial to 25cm, with bright green lance-shaped leaves and purplish-pink flowers 2cm across, with reddish tubular calyces, borne in small clusters on erect stems from late summer
