It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Lady Beatrix Stanley' is a bulbous perennial with grey-green leaves. The flowers, on 12cm stems, are fully double, about 2.5cm across, with small green marks on the inner petals
'S. Arnott' is a perennial to 15cm, with narrow, grey-green leaves and solitary, nodding, fragrant white flowers 2.5cm in length, the inner segments with a thin V-shaped mark at the tip
'Flore Pleno' is a bulbous perennial to 15cm, with narrow, grey-green leaves and solitary, nodding, fragrant, double white flowers 2.5cm in length, the inner segments mostly marked with green at the tip
'Henham No. 1' is a clump-forming bulb growing to 18cm tall with semi-erect, relatively broad green leaves. The globular white flowers have a solid, pale green marking reaching to the base of the inner segments and an elongated paler green ovary
'Merlin' is a robust hybrid, around 20cm in height with greyish-green foliage. Flowers, from late winter to spring, are relatively large with mostly green inner segments
'Sophie North' is a vigorous, bulbous perennial, to 20cm tall, with broad, grey-green leaves. The flower petals are thick-textured with outer petals of pure white. Inner petals have a very distinctive, narrow, green "V" mark around the petal notch. The green marking then extends across the mid and base section of the inner petal
'Trympostor' is a bulbous perennial with grey-green leaves and white flowers on stems around 20cm tall. The outer petals have prominent green markings and a reflexed habit, whilst the inner petals have a green inverted V-shaped mark around the petal notch
'Ketton' is a bulbous perennial, to 18cm tall, with erect, narrow, grey-green leaves and, in late winter, large, solitary, nodding, white flowers, to 3cm long, with pear-shaped outer segments and shorter inner ones. The inner segments have a pair of small green marks at the tips, sometimes joined by a fine line
G. plicatus is a bulbous perennial to 20cm in height, with broad, grey-bloomed, dark green pleated leaves and solitary white flowers 2.5cm in length from late winter, the inner segments marked green at apex, sometimes also at base
Scharlockii Group is a bulbous perennial of variable height, with narrow, grey-green leaves and solitary, nodding, fragrant, white flowers 2.5cm in length, emerging from a split spathe. The inner segments are marked with green at the tip, and the outer segments have variable amounts of green shading
