It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Carbery Gold' is a slow-growing, prostrate, spreading shrub growing up to 90cm tall and 200cm wide. Elegant, arching branches have flat, scale-like, yellow leaves which may turn more golden-yellow in winter
'Golden Mop' is an evergreen dwarf conifer making a small, rounded shrub. Foliage golden-yellow, cord-like in short sprays
'Nana' is a slow-growing evergreen conifer forming a dense dwarf shrub, bushy and rounded in habit, with small, concave, horizontal sprays of blackish-green foliage
'Globosa Nana' is an evergreen dwarf conifer forming a dense, dome-shaped plant with rich green awl-shaped leaves closely appressed to the shoots
'Winter Sun' is a dwarf pine tree, with pairs of deep green needles, turning lime-yellow in winter, and forming a mound of less than 60cm in 10 years
'Cis' is a slow-growing, dwarf shrub of low, mounding form reaching an ultimate height and spread of around 1m. The tight, glossy, dark green needles are arranged radially on the shoots which terminate in small brown buds
'Pfitzeriana Aurea' is a vigorous, spreading evergreen shrub with low, arching branches bearing a mixture of prickly and scale-like leaves, bright golden-yellow becoming greenish-yellow where shaded and in winter
'Young Rusty' is a dwarf, slow-growing conifer of bushy habit reaching to over 1m tall and 1.3m wide. The bronzed green foliage turns a rusty brown colour in winter and has bright red-orange tips in spring. This female form fruits well with the seed borne in a red receptacle
'Minima Aurea' is a dwarf evergreen conifer making a small shrub of conical habit, with golden-yellow foliage held in dense, mostly vertical sprays
'Golden Spreader' is a slow-growing evergreen conifer making a small shrub of spreading, bushy growth, wider than tall. Foliage bright golden-yellow, particularly in winter
