It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Sweet Desire' is an upright, bulbous perennial with leafy stems to 1m or more bearing fragrant, upward- to outward-facing, bowl-shaped flowers in mid-summer, creamy-yellow shading to pink in the centre, with dark red speckles
'Red Velvet' is a bulbous perennial to about 1m with upright, red-flushed stems bearing narrow, mid-green leaves. The fragrant flowers, appearing in mid- to late summer, are deep, rich red, with reflexed petals and orange stamens
'Grand Cru' is an upright bulbous perennial with leafy stems bearing upward-facing, wide-open bright yellow flowers up to 15cm wide in mid summer, each petal with a deep red stain at the base
'Renoir' is an upright, bulbous perennial to 80cm with leafy stems bearing fragrant, upward-facing, pastel-pink flowers with white centres
L. rubellum is a bulbous perennial to 80cm tall with narrowly oval leaves. Up to nine, scented, broadly funnel-shaped flowers with gently flaring , pale pink petals are borne on upright stems in early summer
'Pink Perfection' is a strong-growing bulbous perennial to 2m in height, with narrow dark green leaves and large, fragrant, trumpet-shaped, pale or deep purplish-pink flowers
'Megan Evans' is a bulbous perennial to about 1.2m with whorls of leaves on upright stems, topped in summer with a spire of 20 or more recurved, pollen-free, white flowers with a greenish centre
Golden Splendor Group are vigorous bulbous perennials with outward-facing, trumpet-shaped yellow flowers, marked with purple on the outside, in summer
'Vancouver' is a bulbous perennial with leafy stems to around 100cm topped in mid- to late summer with large, scented, upward-facing, bowl-shaped flowers in bright sugar pink, paler towards the ruffled edges and darker along the midribs
N. thompsonianum is a bulbous perennial with narrow, bright green, strap-shaped leaves, up to 45cm at the base, shorter on the stems. The scented, pale lilac-pink, lily-like flowers are produced in spikes of 10 to 30 in early summer
