It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Grand Cru' is an upright bulbous perennial with leafy stems bearing upward-facing, wide-open bright yellow flowers up to 15cm wide in mid summer, each petal with a deep red stain at the base
'Pink Perfection' is a strong-growing bulbous perennial to 2m in height, with narrow dark green leaves and large, fragrant, trumpet-shaped, pale or deep purplish-pink flowers
Golden Splendor Group are vigorous bulbous perennials with outward-facing, trumpet-shaped yellow flowers, marked with purple on the outside, in summer
N. thompsonianum is a bulbous perennial with narrow, bright green, strap-shaped leaves, up to 45cm at the base, shorter on the stems. The scented, pale lilac-pink, lily-like flowers are produced in spikes of 10 to 30 in early summer
'Perfect Joy' is a large-flowered bulbous perennial, with healthy dark green foliage and large, trumpet-shaped, strawberry-pink flowers, soft-white in the centre, produced on upright stems during summer and autumn
'Orange Marmalade' produces dainty, star-shaped flowers, soft tangerine-orange in colour, with up to 30 flowers on tall upright stems reaching up to 1-1.2m and flowering in early to mid summer
L. tsingtauense produces upright stems and dark green leaves and in midsummer bears umbels of up to 15 upright, shallowly trumpet-shaped, maroon-spotted, orange or orange-red flowers, 5-8cm across, with narrow tepals
L. lankongense is a bulbous perennial that has lance-shaped dark green leaves and racemes of up to 15 turkscap pink flowers with darker spots, borne in midsummer
L. longiflorum is a bulbous perennial with narrow, glossy dark green leaves and pure white, trumpet-shaped sweetly fragrant flowers up to 17cm long in summer
'Twyford' is a vigorous, double-flowered Oriental lily cultivar with bright pink pollen-free flowers marked white at the throat
