'Amethyst Myst' forms a neat clump of wine-red leaves, suffused with silvery-grey between the veins, and deep red beneath, with sprays of small off-white flowers in early summer
'Greenfinch' is a clump-forming perennial with rounded and shallowly lobed leaves and yellowish-green flowers on spikes to 1m tall
'Fireworks' is a semi-evergreen perennial forming a clump of rounded, slightly ruffled, bronze-purple leaves, with sprays of coral-pink flowers in summer
'Green Spice' is a decorative-leaved cultivar, whose lobed and rounded leaves are predominantly silver-green with a green edge and burgundy leaf veins. Dainty panicles of pale pink flowers are borne in late spring
Ebony and Ivory is a clump-forming perennial with strongly ruffled, toothed, dark bronze-purple leaves and contrasting small cream flowers in slender sprays in early summer
'Beauty Colour' is an evergreen perennial forming a mound of shallowly lobed silvery leaves, purple beneath, with green margins and netted with dark veins; small pinkish flowers in early summer
'Caramel' is a colourful cultivar with rounded, lobed leaves. These emerge in shades of pale red and apricot in spring, becoming a golden caramel as they mature. Dainty, pale pink flowers are borne in panicles in summer
'Blackbird ' is a compact perennial with rounded, shallowly lobed, reddish-purple leaves, redder beneath, with panicles of small, bright pink flowers in early summer
'Strawberry Swirl' is a clump-forming perennial with ruffled, angular, green leaves lightly marbled with silver, and tall loose sprays of small pink flowers
H. americana is a mound-forming, evergreen perennial with rosettes of lobed, oval to heart-shaped, glossy leaves. Young foliage is marbled and veined brown, maturing to deep green with copper-green shading. Sprays of tiny, browny-green flowers on tall, upright stems appear in early spring
