It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Marina Wolkonsky' is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial, up to 1.2m high, with lance-shaped green leaves. Clustered, daisy-like, dark violet flowerheads, that darken with age and have violet-orange-brown discs, are borne in late summer and early autumn
'Harrington's Pink' is a vigorous herbaceous perennial with bright green foliage and sprays of clear pink flowers 3-4cm across
'Helen Picton' is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial to about 1m with narrow , mid-green leaves. Relatively large, rich purple flowers with yellow to dark orange centres open from late summer to mid-autumn
'Andenken an Alma Pötschke' is a perennial forming a clump of erect stems bearing narrow leaves and sprays of vivid salmon-pink flowerheads in late summer and autumn
'Violetta' is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial, up to 1.6m high, with strong woody stems and lance-shaped green leaves. Clustered, daisy-like, rich violet flowerheads, with orange-brown discs, are borne in autumn
'Barr's Pink' is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial, up to 1.3m high, with lance-shaped green leaves and clustered, daisy-like, semi-double, bright pink flowerheads, with central golden-yellow discs, in early autumn
'Septemberrubin' is a tall, vigorous perennial to 1m in height with hairy, lance-shaped green leaves from spring to autumn and ruby-red daisy-like flowers with yellow centres from late summer to autumn
'Herbstschnee' is a perennial to 1.2m tall, with lance-shaped leaves and open sprays of yellow-centred flowers 5cm across, with many narrow white rays, opening from late summer to late autumn
'Brunswick' is a clump-forming perennial to 90cm tall with lance-shaped, hairy leaves and stiff, upright stems that carry clusters of mauve-pink flowerheads in autumn
'Mrs S.T. Wright' is a clump-forming perennial, to 1.5m tall, with erect stems carrying lance-shaped leaves and, in autumn, pale violet-blue flowers, over 5cm in diameter, with yellow centres aging to brown
