After last year's success, we are again joining forces with The Wildlife Trusts for another Wild About Gardens Week
As many of you probably know, the RHS shares a website with our friends at
The Wildlife Trusts called
Wild About Gardens. At this year's
Wild About Gardens Week, the theme is pollinating insects – a topic close to the heart of our
Plants for Bugs project given that they will be the subject of our first results paper, due out early 2015 - and how to help them in the winter months.
Individuals, community groups and schools are all welcome to get involved. The dates for your diary are 15-21 September, so not long to go! Find out more at
http://www.wildaboutgardensweek.org.uk/ and look out for lots of noise across
Facebook and
Twitter.
This week,
Plants for Bugs has acquired are rather more civilised neighbour in the form of a refreshment stall. The reason? To cater for our visitors to the wonderful Wisley Flower Show, most of whom will be entering the Gardens through the village entrance due to overflow car parking. The first impression of Wisley Gardens they will get is the Plants for Bugs trial area which is looking fantastic at the moment with purple
Verbena bonariensis and Joe Pye Weed.
