Now in its fourth year, the John MacLeod Annual Lecture* has established itself as a prestigious event highlighting important topics on horticultural science to a broader audience.
Each year we invite leading scientists to talk on a topic of relevance to horticulture and RHS interests. This year we were excited to have Dr William Bird, a practicing GP in the UK, and a specialist in ‘Natural Health Services’; and Dr Matilda van den Bosch from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
Their talk was on Health, Wellbeing and Horticulture, looking at the beneficial role of ornamental plants, gardening and gardens to people and society. Dr Bird is a well-known author and speaker on this topic.
The event, for RHS members, took place at Lindley Hall, London, SW1P 2PE on Thursday 13 November from 4pm.
