Family weekend

Kids go free at this family-friendly event

Bring the children to the show for free on Saturday and Sunday. Two children aged under 18 are allowed free entry with each paying adult. (Under sixes gain free entry throughout the show.)

There wil be plenty for them to enjoy – they can:

  • Find out about gardening and wildlife
  • Discover how fruit and veg are grown
  • Learn more about healthy eating and taste new food at the BBC Good Food Show Summer

What's on

  • The Skinny Jean GardenersBlue Peter regulars the Skinny Jean Gardeners (pictured) will be showing kids how to Sow 'n Grow at 11.30am and 2pm. They will also be joned by Lucas Hatch, who was named RHS Young Gardener of the Year 2012.
  • If they're feeling artistic they can come along to Jolly Pots and paint some plant pots - 11am-4pm each day.
  • Watch the Morris Dancers – 10:30am, 12:30pm and 3pm on Sunday.
  • Meet the Guide Dog puppies – 12:30pm and 2:30pm each day.
  • Be inspired by local school children and other groups who have entered the RHS School Gardening Competition. The theme this year is the Hanging Baskets of Wonderland. Themed around the centenary of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland there'll be some colourful and inventive designs!
