The Metamorphosis Gardens competition allows designers to be as innovative as possible. They are given a list of materials, supplied by Bradstone, and are encouraged to be as creative as they can with their design, while using the supplied materials. The budget is set to be realistic and the gardens are designed with the average back garden in mind.
Four gardens have been selected to be created at this year’s show:
In the Loop
An outdoor space where you can relax on warm summer evenings away from the noise and bustle. Inspired by busy, modern-day life, this garden offers an opportunity to stop, relax and reflect in peace.
A Garden for all ages
This family garden offers fun for children as they play hopscotch and connect with nature, but can be transformed into an adult space for relaxing as day turns to evening.
The Flow Garden
This suburban garden brings together strong landscape design, striking planting and a water feature - all designed to sit well with modern architecture. The vistas and lines draw in the visitor, inviting them to sit and daydream.
Sid Stratton & Bridget Robinson
Designed to be enjoyed all year round, this garden celebrates each season, offering a great view from the house whatever the time of year. In spring, fresh colours dominate, while in winter the cuboid and linear structure creates drama.
