Jodie Fedorko & Martin Anderson
This garden takes a nostalgic look at the past when wildflowers were more common. The once-occupied forge is now in a state of neglect due to the blacksmith’s inability to work because he has motor neurone disease.
The bare areas of land had been left entirely to nature and are now populated by native wildflowers that have settled, naturalised and flourished on this untouched and abandoned land of the once-thriving establishment. The horse chestnut tree, stream and artefacts all serve as a reminder of a bygone age when the village blacksmith was an important artisan.
Congratulations to all the winners of this year's BBC / RHS People's Choice awards – the only vote to be decided by the public.
We're a UK charity established to share the best in gardening. We want to enrich everyone's life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place.
