Into the Nest

Show Features

Designed from a bird’s perspective, Into the Nest highlights the challenges facing British birds. The 2016 State of Nature Report revealed that a staggering 40 percent of British birds are in decline and that some breeding upland wading birds such as curlew, lapwing and golden plover have declined by more than three-quarters in recent decades.

This engaging feature celebrates iconic species. Willow-woven chicks take pride of place and a variety of games help visitors identify specific birds by their eggs, feathers and food source. Visitors can try the incredible ‘Flight of the Kingfisher’ virtual reality experience.
