We had all kinds of fun activities for younger visitors - and under 16s got free entry to the show too

Free activities – on all week

Scarecrow, Hampton Court 2016Schools Scarecrow Competition – Our theme was Walk on the Wild Side and we had more than 70 entries from various local schools – visitors could vote for their favourite one.

Butterfly Domebeautiful tropical butterflies flew freely around this tropically planted dome.

Children’s Trail – kids could go on a Bug Hunt around the show grounds and find our big bee, caterpillar, ladybird and ant... great fun.

RHS Education – Beside the scarecrows was the Famous Five discovery area, another great interactive activity for learning and exploring.

Children’s Crèche (play) area –  A chance for adults to take some time out with their little ones and enjoy our soft play area, fun for all ages.

Mr BloomCBeebies' Mr Bloom was in the RHS Celebrity Talks Theatre – entertainmentand fun for the little ones in the family.

Kids Cookery School in the Cook & Grow Theatre – Visitors could sign up in the theatre for one of our Kid’s Cookery school classes – all free and loads of fun.

Cbeebies' Justin Fletcher was in the Celebrity Talks Theatre – entertainment for your little ones.

Henri Le Worm – Cookery aimed to entice children into cooking.

Balloon Modeller - The children’s play area south side had a balloon modeller throughout the day creating various items out of balloons for the children.

Bug Hunt, with our interactive theatre troupe Professor Gooblidook’s Bugs and Beasties – Young visitors could join Professor Gooblidook as one of his assistants on an interactive adventure throughout the show site where they could solve the clues and help save the wildlife. A mix of puppetry, songs and immersive theatre for families and adventurers of all ages.

Story Telling Bus at the 2016 showOnce Upon a Bus – Storytelling Bus on the Village Green. Show-goers could climb aboard and listen to a wonderful story all about bugs and wildlife.

Face Painting – Be a bumblebee, a ladybird, a butterfly or whatever your imagination dreams up. Our talented artists were painitng faces near the children’s play area on the south side of the site.

Punch & Judy – The ever-popular traditional English puppet show was near the North Side Bandstand for six shows a day throughout the weekend.
