Inspiration for this garden is to be found in the romantic Victorian English garden, from an era when interest in gardening burgeoned, as well as in the writings and botanical illustrations of Jane Loudon, author of England’s first gardening manuals. This garden’s elegant and refined design and planting scheme are synonymous with the delicate fragrances of Yardley London’s new Contemporary Classics Fragrance range.

This garden has been designed to be admired from a terrace. Gently banked Victorian-style flowerbeds exhibit floral scroll bedding patterns alongside paths for promenading. Cooling ferneries are set into rockeries, a fashionable garden accessory of the time. The glasshouse hosts exotic plants collected in this golden age of plant hunting.

A Growing Obsession celebrates the partnership between an acclaimed, quintessentially English fragrance house and a proud horticultural charity, both of which have roots firmly planted in British gardens. In 1839, the custodians of Britain’s great estates came together to start pensions for their sick, injured and elderly gardeners. The charity Perennial was born and today is dedicated to helping people who work in horticulture, and their families, when times are tough.
