Family Day 2016

This year saw the show's first Family Day with plenty of fun for all!

There was a Family Saturday at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show for the first time ever. Packed full of fun children’s events, it promised a memorable day out for all the family…

Mr Bloom

CBeebies Mr Bloom

CBeebies favourite, Mr Bloom, made a guest appearance at the show in the Celebrity Theatre, inspiring children to get closer to nature.

Kids cooking

Kids Cookery School

A special programme of cookery classes and demos in the Cook and Grow Theatre served up some super recipes for children to try, and taste, at home.

Butterfly Dome

Butterfly Dome

A magical Butterfly Dome, filled with beautiful creatures and jungle plants, captured children’s imaginations. There were also fun facts about the life cycle of a butterfly and tips on how to make your own garden more caterpillar-friendly!

Space-themed scarecrows

This year’s scarecrow competition featured 62 space-themed scarecrows lovingly created by local primary schools. They truly were out of this world!

Once Upon A Bus

Storytelling bus

Kids could jump aboard the ‘Once Upon a Bus’ for some great storytelling entertainment.

And much more…

There was also a Plant Explorer's trail, space-themed puppets, balloon artists, face painting, kids seed sowing and a soft play area for under 5s.

And there was plenty for grown-ups too!
