Wild Garden Banquet with Merlin Labron-Johnson

An immersive foraging experience and bespoke five-course menu created by Michelin-starred chef, Merlin Labron-Johnson

There was an exciting and unique dining experience at the 2019 RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, with Michelin-starred chef, Merlin Labron-Johnson.

Inspired by nature, Merlin created an exclusive menu that invited visitors to become immersed into the art of foraging.

The first taste of Merlin's Wild Garden Banquet was by walking through a wild garden with the likes of sorrel, wild cherry, flowering nettles, bilberries, field cress and wild garlic.

With the help of a foraging host, visitors discovered how Merlin – who was awarded a Michelin star at just 24 years old – incoporated these plants into his cooking and how to use them at home in jams, soups, cordials, liqueurs and dressings.

Once the tour was complete, guests were led inside the beautifully-decorated dining tent to enjoy a five-course meal at an impressive long table, all hosted by Merlin. There was the opportunity to discuss the menu with the chef in a unique and intimate setting.
