Visitors enjoyed the garden party of the summer at the RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival Preview Evening 2019 with live music, floral workshops and a chance to win some unforgettable prizes.
The evening was topped off by dazzling fireworks finale that lit up the sky with hundreds of starbursts.

Rising London based collective Franc Moody brought the disco-funk to the Preview Evening before our feel-good fireworks finale.
Tom Seals and his Trio
Tom’s virtuoso solo-ing, excellent improvisation skills as well as distinctive voice have left top industry officials hailing him as one of the UK’s finest Blues/Boogie-Woogie piano/ vocalists.
The Southern Sons
A Somerset Mumford and Sons style band, with great personality and lots of energy.
The Brass Funkeys are an eight-piece London-based brass band who draw on the traditions of New Orleans. Formed in 2011, they have played at mayor festivals including Glastonbury and Wilderness.
The Jonathan Vinten Trio with special guest Sara Dowling
Singer Sara Dowling and renowned jazz pianist Jonathan Vinten joined up especially for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival Preview Evening. Sara is a jazz singer who is deeply inspired by the repertoire of the classic American songbook.
Jonathan has been a regular performer at Ronnie Scott's, especially with George Melly and John Chilton's Feetwarmers with whom he has toured extensively, both at home and abroad, playing over 250 theatre concerts a year.

Modern Calligraphy with Alice Gabb
A beginner’s workshop into the art of modern calligraphy – Alice returned to the Preview Evening to guide visitors through practice exercises, moving on to letterforms. By the end of the session, guests were able to write their name or favourite quote.
Cake Me Up with Ali Anderson
Ali showed how to decorate a cupcake using two piping techniques and created beautiful roses made from buttercream. Visitors discovered different types of buttercream, how to colour it and the best techniques to get professional looking results.
Floristry with Dennis Van Wonderen
Renowned florist Dennis van Wonderen revealed the art of arranging flowers in this fun floristry workshop, which was suitable for all levels.
The art of flower crowns with Mary Gilmore
Mary Gilmore showed how to make a flower crown, which visitors could take away and wear for the rest of the Preview Evening.

Raymond joined us at Hampton once again, and further explored his fascination with tastes and flavours using the very best of Great British produce.

Martin Ogden shared the secrets of success for indoor gardening. He helped guests choose the right plant for different spaces in the home.
