Floral Marquee & Plant Village
Featuring hand-picked British and international nurseries displaying and selling award-winning stock, the Floral Marquee and Plant Village were the ideal places to discover and buy new plants
In the Marquee
This year’s RHS Floral Marquee, supported by Cathay Pacific, was as exciting as ever, with top-quality exhibits on display from leading plant nurseries - it’s true to say you can't buy better-quality plants from anywhere else.
With the Potting Bench demonstrations and RHS Gardening Advice service in the Floral Marquee too, there was plenty to grab your attention and you could get an answer to your most troubling of quandaries...
New exhibitors in the marquee included Laurence Hobb Orchids Ltd, Palms Exotics, Meadowgate Nursery, Ottershaw Cacti and Strictly Daylilies, and if you were looking for something really special, the place to visit was Plant Heritage – especially if you were looking to start an unusual collection.
Plant Heritage
This year Plant Heritage exhibitors once again joined the other nurseries in the Floral Marquee, increasing the diversity of plants on offer and bringing additional rare and unusual floral gems to the forefront. For 2017 another four nurseries joined the ranks and there were new exhibits here including those from the Australasian Plant Society, Marshall’s Malmaisons carnations and the National Plant Collections of Crassula and Roscoea.
Specialising in rare and unusual plants, these collection holders have a passion for their plants that is contagious. You could see some of the best National Plant Collections from around the country as well as across the world with friendly experts on hand to offer advice as well as sell their plants.
Plant Village
Set by the Long Water Gate Entrance, 22 of the country's finest nurseries made a wonderful spectacle with vignettes of their specialist blooms. Visitors could get inspiration from the displays and pick up a plant or two (or three..) to take home.
Plant Crèche
Once you had those must-have plants in your possession, you could leave them in our Plant Crèche at the south end of the marquee to collect later in the day, so you could shop to your heart's content without the worry of damaging those precious purchases.
