Demonstrating her take on the theme ‘An English Country Garden’ Norfolk-based Tamara Bridge used this as inspiration to create ‘The Sunset Garden, a garden for glorious summer evenings and the setting sun.
A garden room for a rural English country house, the design was inspired by a North Norfolk garden where it receives this last low-level light, which has an illuminating quality, creating a warm glow across the planting. The posts and arches formed an enclosure within without dominating the space while trellis panels framed the view into and out of the garden.
Soft planting of blues to pinks with lemon yellows were intermingled with colours of burgundy. Lavender, lilies and roses added scent and topiary box and structural planting provided depth.
