    Garden History

Covering more than 500 years of gardening history, RHS Libraries collections include historical and contemporary books on gardening, botanical artworks, photographs and the personal archives of a number of notable gardeners and garden designers. Our collections provide comprehensive information on plant introductions, horticultural developments and the impact of gardening on people’s lives throughout the centuries.

The main collections, including the rare books and original art collections, are held at the RHS Lindley Library in London. This tour will include a curator’s introduction to the exhibition ‘Handle with Care’ and the opportunity to go behind the scenes to view a selection of items from the library collections.
