Painting Workshops ‘Look Closer’

This workshop will invite you to look closer at the plants and flowers you think you know. Through painting, you will explore the hidden colours, textures and shapes of plants, that you don’t always see at first glance. This workshop will not only give you a greater understanding and appreciation of the plants you’re so used to seeing but will also help to improve your painting skills. 
Working from an arrangement of plants Amelia will guide you through the process of creating a detailed painting, whilst encouraging you to add your own style to your piece. Guidance will be given on different techniques as well as looking at ways of creating depth, blending colour and much more. 
Materials will be provided: you will be working in acrylic paint, however, please feel free to bring any of your own materials if you would prefer.

Workshop suitable for 12 years +

This workshop will be taught by Amelia Anderson, an illustrator who specialises in detailed paintings predominantly featuring plants, flowers, animals and birds. 
Amelia graduated from the Bath School of Art and Design in 2017 with a BA (Hons) in Textile Design and has been running her own business, Amelia Anderson Design, ever since.
