David Millidge returns to RHS Garden Hyde Hall this November with an exciting new exhibition. Visit the Hilltop Lodge to discover his ceramic sculptures, alongside string sculptures by guest artist Sam Jacobs.
David is a ceramic artist and his work includes abstract forms, functional pots and figurative sculpture. The thing that ties all these genres together is his unique construction technique. His method of assembling slip-cast forms allows him complete creative freedom. The works which usually contain some ambiguity, are exciting, stimulating and thought provoking.
Sam is a British sculptor based in Brighton. She creates complex, three-dimensional sculptures appropriating traditional knotting techniques. Jacobs has a strong interest in historical knotting, sustainable materials and public sculpture’s potential to create connections and conversations.
The RHS is the UK’s gardening charity, helping people and plants to grow - nurturing a healthier, happier world, one person and one plant at a time.
