This colourful exhibition expresses flowers, fruits and food from the garden through mixed media including needle-felt and textile art, oil pastels, acrylics and inks. The pieces on display have a seasonal connection to our harvest throughout the year. Artist Julie Vickery creates many of her pieces as initial paintings, pieces which are beautiful on their own and in their own right; these then get re-imagined as tactile pieces of textile and felt art. This exhibition will give a wide appreciation to the many ways of creating art with a variety of materials giving inspiration and joy. Inspired by nature from our gardens and our local landscape, Julie likes to work and experiment with a variety of materials, sometimes together and sometimes on their own, each giving the result that the piece deserves. Julie Vickery has been an Artist for as long as she can remember, and a qualified teacher for over 20 years. Living on the edge of Dartmoor she now teaches workshops from home and locally, and exhibits and sells original work, prints, cards and coasters. You can join Julie for a workshop at RHS Rosemoor, Poinsettia and Winter Hellebores in Needlefelt, on Sunday 16 November 2025. She will guide you through the needlefelting process to create your own piece of needlefelted art within the day.
The RHS is the UK’s gardening charity, helping people and plants to grow - nurturing a healthier, happier world, one person and one plant at a time.
