Young people over 10 years old welcome to attend with a paying adult.

Find out about the bats that roost and hunt around RHS Rosemoor. After a brief introduction to bat ecology, you will learn how to use bat detectors and head outside at dusk to watch the bats emerge from their nearby roosts.
We will then tour the gardens in the twilight as the light levels drop to see how many species we can find, using some high tech gadgets to see the bats in what would otherwise be complete darkness. This walk is aimed at families and anyone who would like to see and hear bats as they emerge in the earlier part of the evening.
Ticket price includes an FSC Bat ID guide (or alternative if you already have one).

Sarah Butcher has been interested in bats since the first time she went on a bat walk herself, immediately becoming fascinated and bought her bat detector three days later. She is the Chair of Devon Bat Group, monitors bat populations all over the county, leads walks, talks and surveys, and rehabilitates injured bats.
