    Annuals

Exotic annuals have been using in bedding schemes since the heyday of Victorian park plantings but adding annuals to your borders can be a cost effective way of adding colour from May to the first frosts.

During this workshop, you will look at the range of annuals available, consider how to choose between hardy or tender annuals, their suitability for different sites and what they add to the border. You will be given tips on how to propagate, plant and care for them.

After a break for refreshments, you will spend time in the Garden looking at how annuals are used at Rosemoor, and plant a selection of different annuals to take home and grow on to plant out in your own garden later in the season.

Please bring with you:
  • Your booking reference number
  • A notebook and pencil to make notes
  • Camera or mobile phone for photos if you wish
Please wear clothes and footwear suitable for the weather on the day. Parts of this workshop will be taking place both indoors and outside.

All materials and equipment provided. Tea, coffee and cake included.

Tutor: Viv Hunt
