    Hand built pottery

November celebrates the beginning of the RHS Rosemoor Sculpture Exhibition! Taking inspiration from a selection of seedpods and images, you will have the opportunity to create your own piece of garden sculpture, hand built from clay.

The first part of the day will be spent making the base form using a combination of pinch pots and coiling. After an instructional demonstration and discussion you will select and use a variety of clay decorating techniques including, scoring, sprig moulding, impressing and modelling to create a unique seedpod garden ornament. Your completed work will then be dried, fired and glazed externally, ready for collection in two or three weeks' time.

Llinos Gale currently runs pottery workshops at London House Studio & Gallery in Bideford. She has an Honours Degree in 3-Dimensional Design specialising in ceramics and has spent many years working in the education sector, sharing her passion for pottery and exploring different materials and techniques. Llinos has always been drawn to the sea and her work is often inspired by the colours and textures of Devon’s coastline.

Llinos is a new tutor to RHS Rosemoor and we are excited to be offering two pottery workshops with her this year. Her other workshop is Windowsill Planter on 27 October 2024.
