Gardens are our sanctuaries. Hidden away from the bustle of life they can be personal havens. Yet gardening can be enriched when pursued with the assistance of others. We can gain advice from books and magazines, radio, TV, the internet, but the benefit of accessing the kinship of a garden community or horticultural society is the pinnacle of communal gardening.

This RHS Garden Bridgewater display explores two societies local to the North West of England. Holmes Chapel Gooseberry Society and the North West Counties Chrysanthemum Society: Discovering their respective rich histories, exploring their development and meeting their passionate members.
