Needlefelting
Create a needlefelted squirrel from wool around a wire armature frame, around 18cm in height. Add detail to give your squirrel personality. Michelle will guide you through the process, step-by-step, so that by the end of the day you will take home your own charming (or cheeky) woodland character. Needlefelting is a surprisingly easy and enjoyable craft which does not involve sewing or glueing, simply the use of a special needle to mat and bind the wool. Michelle Hickman has been teaching needlefelting for 10 years, working with over 2,000 people at venues across the country and including her own workshop near Taunton. Other venues have included Higham Hall in the Lake District and Boconnoc House in Cornwall, and she is also a regular tutor at Craft4Crafters at Exeter and Bath & West Showground. Michelle has also published a book on needlefelting, entitled simply Needlefelting and full of projects and inspiration. This is Michelle's first workshop at RHS Rosemoor and we are looking forward to welcoming her.
