The Blue Diamond Forge Garden

Artisan Gardens

A forge complete with thatched roof, provides the focal point of this blacksmith’s garden, which recreates the spirit of The Forge at Branscombe in Devon, a forge that has been in continual use for centuries.

A natural woodland provides the backdrop to the forge and garden, with trees, including fruit trees, crowding the edges, and providing autumnal produce for the smithy. Climbers and foliage make their way up and over the roof of the forge, clinging to the structure and softening its edges.

Food and edible herbs grow in the informal cottage garden alongside plants with medicinal properties. Wild flowers thrive along the banks of the stream that flows through the garden as plants push through the gaps in the cobbled floor.

Metalwork structures feature in the garden with the designs inspired by nature.
