How we make a difference

The RHS Communities team works with community groups, schools and individuals, bringing the joy of plants, growing and gardens to people across the UK.

We believe that gardening can change lives and through our work, we aim to inspire and connect people with plants, empower them to grow in any way they choose, and celebrate their accomplishments and stories.

Growing stronger, happier communities

In 2022, we opened our flagship RHS Wellbeing Garden in partnership with the NHS at University Hospital Lewisham, London. The garden provides a much-needed oasis for staff, patients and visiting family members, as well as being a wellbeing hub for local community groups.
