The flower garden evening class - 11 April - 2 May

National Gardening Week - 15-21 April

National Gardening Week Logo 2013Come and share in the RHS’s wealth of gardening knowledge during National Gardening Week. Over the weekend Harlow Carr’s garden team will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice. For budding career changers there will be plenty of opportunities to talk to local horticultural specialists about how they got started in the industry. Other event highlights include:

Wildflower seed bomb family workshop - 20 April
Wildflower meadowMake a mini seed-bomb, throw it into your garden and watch what grows! Drop in to the Teaching Glasshouse Gazebo from 11am – 1pm and again from 2pm – 4pm.

Meadow sowing demonstrations - 20 April
Join a short talk, walk and demonstration with the RHS Floral Team, who will show you how to sow a mini wildflower meadow. 11.30am & 2.30pm.

Gardening Girlfriends Exhibition - 20-28 April

Gardening girlfriendsFor one week in April the Bath House will become an artists' studio, where Yorkshire artists Nikky Corker and Jane Redfern will be working. Nikky will be adding to her collection of 'Gardening Girlfriends' paintings, taking inspiration from her sketchbooks and Harlow Carr, and if you have any questions for the local painters, then feel free to have a chat while they work. Paintings and prints will also be for sale. View event details

Bonsai Open Day - 21 April

5 May - Spring plant fair

Buying plantsBrowse and buy quality plants from specialist nurseries. RHS Advisors will also be on hand (throughout the weekend) to answer your gardening questions, and help with plant identification.

Plant of the month

Plant of the month

You can find Chaerophyllum hirsutum 'Roseum’ in Harlow Carr's Main Borders. This plant of meadows, hedgerows and open woodland has apple scented leaves and umbels of soft pink flowers.
