In this four-week theory course we'll share lots of tips and advice on how to create colour in the garden with the careful use of perennials, bulbs, hardy and half hardy annuals, biennials, roses and shrubs. View event details
Come and gain the confidence and knowledge to expand your plant collection with this workshop, covering seed sowing and taking cuttings from leaves and stems, illustrated with demonstrations. View event details
Come and share in the RHS’s wealth of gardening knowledge during National Gardening Week. Over the weekend Harlow Carr’s garden team will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice. For budding career changers there will be plenty of opportunities to talk to local horticultural specialists about how they got started in the industry. Other event highlights include:
Wildflower seed bomb family workshop - 20 April
Make a mini seed-bomb, throw it into your garden and watch what grows! Drop in to the Teaching Glasshouse Gazebo from 11am – 1pm and again from 2pm – 4pm.
Meadow sowing demonstrations - 20 April
Join a short talk, walk and demonstration with the RHS Floral Team, who will show you how to sow a mini wildflower meadow. 11.30am & 2.30pm.

For one week in April the Bath House will become an artists' studio, where Yorkshire artists Nikky Corker and Jane Redfern will be working. Nikky will be adding to her collection of 'Gardening Girlfriends' paintings, taking inspiration from her sketchbooks and Harlow Carr, and if you have any questions for the local painters, then feel free to have a chat while they work. Paintings and prints will also be for sale. View event details
Members of the Bonsai Group will be
on hand to offer advice and information with visitors invited to bring their
own specimens along in order to
obtain specific advice for their tree. 11am-3pm. View event details

5 May - Spring plant fair
Browse and buy quality plants from specialist nurseries. RHS Advisors will also be on hand (throughout the weekend) to answer your gardening questions, and help with plant identification.
