A dense, dwarf, clump-forming, deciduous perennial to around 120cm in height, forming rosettes of lance-shaped, dark green bristly foliage. Creamy-white, pincushion flowers which may develop a blue tint in cooler conditions, appear on short stems above the foliage from June through to October, sometimes beyond if conditions are favourable
