A medium to large-sized, evergreen, epiphytic orchid, producing a clump of egg-shaped pseudobulbs, covered with basal, leaf-bearing sheaths. The leaves are linear, semi-rigid, up to 90cm long and approximately 2cm wide. Arching inflorescences appear from the base of mature pseudobulbs in late winter and spring. Up to 90cm long flowering stems carry up to twenty, 8cm large, waxy, white, cream, pale pink or pale yellow flowers. The colour of flowers depends on cultivar
