A clump-forming, rhizomatous herbaceous perennial to around 90cm in height, with sword-shaped grey-green leaves. Large, slightly muskily fragrant dark pink flowers with very pale pink falls and a bright red ruffled and lacy beard, appear from late spring to early summer
