A mat-forming, evergreen succulent producing compact, tight dome-shaped rosettes to 3cm across, with thick, fleshy, pointed green leaves edged with fine white hairs, the outer leaves red in winter and pinkish-bronze in summer. Tall spikes of starry reddish-pink flowers produced from mature rosettes, die off after flowering in summer and are replaced by new offsets
