A clump-forming, semi-evergreen perennial, to 20cm high in flower, forming a mound of deeply lobed and toothed green leaves with fine, dark purple markings in the centre. Leaves turn coppery bronze in colder temperatures when grown in some sun. Dense spikes of starry pale pink flowers are held on upright stems above the foliage in spring
