A slow-spreading, evergreen perennial to around 15cm in height, with dark green, heart-shaped leaves, sometimes marbled with pale green or silver. Three-lobed, black flowers with white centres, which look a little like a panda's face, are produced in spring, though these may be hidden by the foliage. Great in pots and containers in a shadier part of the garden
