A vigorous and robust small tree with layered tiers of branches up to 5m inn height. Variegated foliage, leaves alternate, oval with pointed tips, very narrow white margins with gray green centre, becoming pink and red in autumn. Flowers in elegant flat cymes of small white, self-fertile, flowers are borne in May followed by small blue-black berries in autumn.
