A tall, high-yielding, long-leaved radicchio-type chicory which may be forced if required, with long, pointed green leaves which turn to red as the temperatures drop. Sow in June to July for harvesting in autumn to early spring. Brings a tangy taste and colour to winter salads. Although a biennial, it is generally grown as an annual and harvested in its first year of growth
