Bergenia crassifolia 'Aureo-Marginata'
Clump-forming evergreen perennial about 45cm tall. Broadly oval, mid-green leaves to 18cm long, streaked cream and purple, with bristly, reddish edges, are red-tinged in exposed sites, especially in winter. Branched reddish-green stems bear dense clusters of purplish-pink flowers, in late winter and early spring

How to grow
Cultivation
Grow in humus-rich, moist but well drained soil in sun or part shade. Grow in sun for best autumn leaf colour. Tolerates poor soil, exposed sites and shady areas, dislikes hot dry conditions. See bergenia cultivation

Propagate by division of established clumps, or root rhizomes sections in autumn or spring
