A dwarf, slow-growing, evergreen conifer, which unlike the typical species, produces a compact, flattened spherical bush up to 60cm (2ft) high and around 90cm (3ft) across after ten years. The dark-green needles are small, stiff, and very densely produced, so that the stems and basal branches are completely covered. It is an ideal choice for a small city, or courtyard garden, where an architectural or evergreen focal point is needed
