A clump-forming, semi-evergreen perennial, to around 30cm high, forming a mound of deeply lobed green leaves feathered with dark bronze. Leaves turn shades of reddish purple in autumn and winter. Tall clusters of flowers are held on slender stems above the foliage in spring, with pink buds opening to small, starry white flowers
