A dwarf, very slow-growing evergreen coniferous tree, only reaching 1.2m (4ft) high when mature and having a spread of 45cm (18in). The tree has a compact, perfectly conical outline, formed by densely produced needles which are dark green above and white below. Its size and symmetrical outline are its main ornamental features and it is very useful for growing in smaller city gardens, as a container plant and also in the rockery.
