A perennial bulb, to 25cm high, with pairs of lance-shaped, grey-green leaves, wrapped one around the other at the base. Solitary, nodding white flowers are produced in late winter, with long outer petals and inner petals marked with an upside down heart shape at the tip, and two faint dots near the base
