A bulbous perennial with glaucous (blueish-green) foliage, and stems to 55cm, bearing 1-3 upward-facing flowers to 7cm wide. The overlapping perianth segments are yellow, the wide open cup is orange-yellow, paler towards the base. Scented flowers early in the season

How to Grow

Cultivation

Plant at one and a half to two times its own depth in autumn. Will tolerate most soils but prefers moderately fertile, well-drained soil that is constantly moist during the growing season. See daffodil cultivation for further advice
