An upright, rhizomatous perennial houseplant to 1m, with spear-like, stiffly fleshy green leaves with a faint stripey appearance. Mature plants may rarely produce spikes of fragrant, spidery, greenish-white flowers. The spears can even be plaited for an neat, architectural effect!
